Middle-Earth Shadow of Mordor is one game that I’m oddly excited for. The reason I say that is because not only am I not an established fan of The LOTR lore, but I’ve never read, seen, or played a single piece of media based in the world.

But I’m highly enticed by this game, the graphics look awesome and the gameplay looks brutal and customizable. The story looks like your standard revenge story after witnessing your wife and son murdered in front of you. The main character comes back from the death through some curse where he has merged with a wraith and given immense powers beyond his normal limits.

He then seeks to be reunited with his wife and child through death by breaking the curse and killing those that killed him and his family. In turn putting him out of the misery of living in a world where everyone he ever loved was gone.

The combat looks a lot like the one seen in another games like Dark Siders but mixed in with a combo system like in the Arkham series. I’m very excited to see what the people at monolith are cooking up for us.

His infusion with a wraith gives him awesome powers which allows him to dominate and terrorize the enemies. Domination allows for Talion to identify enemy strengths and exploit their weaknesses. Since the nemesis system allows for a living world every players game will be very different and I cannot wait to get my hands on this game.

Middle-Earth: Shadow of Mordor comes out on October 7th.
